All Souls Seminar in Early Modern Intellectual History (Hilary 2024)

As always, this year’s iteration of the Seminar in Early Modern Intellectual History will consist of papers on a wide range of subjects: philosophy, science, scholarship, religion, politics, and the social setting of early modern intellectual life.

On this occasion, Russ Leo (Princeton) will be speaking on “Quakers, Collegiants, and Spinoza”

This individual session is co-sponsored by co-sponsored by the ERC project “The Common Notion. Science and Consensus in the Seventeenth Century (NOTCOM (ERC Advanced Grant no. 101052433. IHRIM, CNRS ENS de Lyon / Maison Française d’Oxford, 2023-2027).

The seminars will take place in the Hovenden Room, at All Souls College, from 2-4pm on Thursdays. Please note that there is no seminar in 7th week. Access is via the entrance to the College on the High Street – please ask at the porter’s lodge for further directions, or consult the information at:
