MOUHAMADOUL-KHALY WÉLÉ

Mouhamadoul-Khaly Wélé pursued his higher education in Political Science and Comparative Literature in France. His research focuses on the representations of Muslims in French and English literature from the 17th to the 19th century, employing a comparative approach enriched by digital humanities methodologies. He has defended his PhD on 17th-19th centuries English and French Orientalism.

As a co-director, he actively contributes to the Qur’an 12-21 platform, a dynamic space designed to facilitate digital comparisons and contextualization of European translations and interpretations of the Muslim sacred book from the 12th to the 21st century.

As part of the NOTCOM project, Mouhamadoul-Khaly holds the position of Research Engineer, responsible for designing a BaseX database for NOTCOM researchers. He collaborates closely with Maud Ingarao (IHRIM – ENS de Lyon). In addition to this work, he is undertaking a digital edition of the Journal des Sçavans (1665-1701), further contributing to the field of digital scholarly editing.
